Welcome to                            boarding house. Below is the list of things you need to be aware of or know where to find. These items listed will be shown and explained to you by the Housemaster, Assistant Housemistress, the Matron and the prefect team.

Notice board for pupils with safe guarding, contact details, emergency procedures,, etc ? *
Different outside doors exits/entrances? *
How to use the appliances in the kitchen? *
Have located your lockable space in your room & have a padlock on it? *


Medical, Health & Support

The storing & use of medicines (all handed in)? *
Who to contact if you feel un-well in the day? *
Who to contact after school at night if you become un-well? *
If you need support, who you can turn to or speak to? *
How to access additional support; Listen services, Chaplin, Councillor, The Hub, etc...? *
The importance of attending ALL meals? *
Importance of eating healthily outside of meal times? *
Storing of food in the kitchen, fridge & your room? *
Aware of the school bullying policy & how to report it? *


Emergency

Heard the fire alarm? *
Aware of the evacuation procedure? *
Aware of ALL emergency exits to leave the building? *
Fire evacuation assembly location? *

If evacuation alarm sounds, the first person to pass the sign in & out board, needs to take it too the assembly point? *


Travel & Out of House Procedures

Have you read & understood the travel guidelines (copy on notice board)? *
Aware of the process of leaving the House (School) for an Exeat? *
Understand where to find out about House trips & boarding trips. And how to sign up for a trip? *

Systems & Processes

Uploaded Teams onto your phone *
How to contact the house through the house mobile? *
Saved the house mobile to your phone & sent a text from your phone with your name in the message (please add number + country code)? *
Aware of timings of the day & evening, including the weekends or know where to find this information? *
How to complete Exeat forms on FireFly and seeking permissions to leave the boarding house? *
How to contact the Housemaster / Assistant Housemistress or House tutor in an emergency? *
How to report any breakages or damages? *
How to sign in guests to the boarding house? *
Where pupils are allowed to go & when (out off bounds on-site & town)? *
How pupils can access their money & important documents in the house safe? *
Have access to school WiFI, computers, email & Firefly? *
Aware that money & valuable items need to be locked away, including, wallets, bank cards, headphones, etc...? *
Reporting of lost lost items and money? *
Know how to put your clothing & bedding to be washed & how to retrieve them? *
Aware that ALL clothing & personal items HAVE TO BE named! *
Aware of all privileges and how & when they can be used? *
How to make suggests and complaints to staff in the boarding house? *


House Expectations & Duties

Understand the house ethos? *
The expected behaviour in the house & after lights are out? *
Aware of the house rules? *
Aware you may not enter another pupils room without permission? *
Know that you may not borrow or use any pupils personal belongings without permission. *
Understand the process of rewards & sanctions and the house merit system with the 'families'? *
Aware of the nine key school rules and the repercussions of abusing any of them? *
Aware of the different duties & their roles? *
Where to find the duty rota? *
Aware that kettles/rice cookers/heaters - anything with a hot heating element CANNOT be used in bedrooms. This is a Health & Safety fire regulation.
No 'wet' food or take-aways to be taken to or eaten outside of the kitchen or common rooms (NOT in rooms). *
Aware of the 'work hard' (academic) verses 'play hard' in the house? *
Aware of the good manners at all times house policy? *
