How to ask for support with a task

It is very important that you read all the instructions before asking for support.

  1. Explain what you have done up to the point at which you got stuck.
  2. Identify which instruction you are stuck on;
    • If the instructions are in a numbered list, it is the number of the instruction.
    • If the instructions are in a bullet-point list, count down to the bullet you are stuck on.
    • If the instructions are in paragraphs of text, count the paragraphs to the one which you are stuck on.
      • Then identify which sentence in the paragraph is the point at which you got stuck.
  3. Explain what you did to try to become unstuck on that instruction.
  4. Do not use vague statements that carry no meaning, for example:

'I don't get it!'

'I don't understand what I have to do!'

'It doesn't make sense, please explain it for me!'
