Scenario
Imagine you are doing some web-based research and you are making notes in a Word document. You might find it annoying to keep switching between the web browser and Word.
One approach might be to manually resize the windows to occupy half your screen each. However, this takes time and so is similarly annoying.
Suggested approach
Use the Snap Windows feature
Starting with two overlapping windows, a web browser and Word...
Make Word active by clicking it and press ⊞ + ← (Windows key and left arrow key).
Then make the web browser active by clicking it and then press ⊞ + → (Windows key and right arrow key).
Your windows will now be equally split across your screen.
The process in steps
- Make the first window active by clicking it.
- Press ⊞ + ← (Windows key and left arrow key).
- Make the second window active by clicking it.
- Press ⊞ + → (Windows key and right arrow key).
