Objectives

• Understand the structure of a letter (date, salutation, body, closing, signature).

Activity 1

• Provide examples and templates for different types of letters.
• Discuss the various styles and the possible target audience for each.

Activity 2

• Write a letter to a grandparent or other elderly relative to let them know what you did over the summer.
• Write a letter to a pen pal in another country (of your choice), to tell them about yourself, your interests, and the place and country where you live (culture, customs, etc.)
