Welcome to St Monica House!

St Monica House was once a convent before Warminster School purchased the buildings in 1996 and converted into a boarding house. Stunning, and even quirky, architectural features of the former chapel and convent are still quite visible throughout the house.

Our ‘Junior’ girls and boys make St Monica their home, incorporating pupils from Year 3 – Year 8 in the spacious boarding house, including a wing for Ivy girls, 'Ivy Annexe'. The House provides excellent accommodation and a large garden in which younger boarders can play. There is a separate boys’ and girls’ wings of the House, but they come together in large and light filled communal spaces which include computer facilities, comfortable common rooms and an eating/kitchen space.

Housemistress, Miss Horner teaches in the Prep School and together with Ellen Santana, Matron, provide all our young peoples need to thrive in this family feel boarding house. Together with the resident and academic Tutors, Miss Horner and Ms Santana work hard to make sure everyone is happy as possible, as it is the School’s and the House’s belief that pastoral happiness and comfort are indelibly linked with academic success.

Please read our handbook for further details. We look forward to welcoming you!
