Stratton is a co-ed Sixth Form House and is the launch pad for our Sixth Form as they prepare for life beyond school. With carefully divided accommodation, providing completely separate sleeping wings for girls and boys, communal areas are shared, and opportunities will exist, similar to a hall of residence at University, where pupils can cook, eat and relax together with carefully agreed boundaries and supervision. This model of a co-educational Sixth Form boarding experience has proven to be a highly successful one across numerous boarding establishments and combined with the opening of Townroe Lodge Sixth Form Centre on the main school site, is providing our young people with valuable opportunities to develop healthy and positive relationships in a natural environment.

We have a dedicated team looking after the Stratton pupils. Mr. Lea, the Housemaster, who is resident with his wife Mrs. Lea, along with new arrival little baby Lara Lea. He is supported by Miss Lynch, our Resident Assistant Housemaster, along with Mrs. Bridgwater and Mrs. Cakebread serving as our matrons alongside our brilliant team of academic sixth form tutors. Additionally, we have a Resident Graduate Assistant Jemma Brooks to support the students, and a dedicated team of trusted domestic staff. Beside that we also have a few pets including the two cats Obi and Tybs, as well as a very sweet little puppy called Sadie. It is a busy place to live, and all members of the Stratton team play a crucial role in our shared responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the boarders in Stratton, aiming to create a house where everyone feels at home.

The culture we aim to foster in the house is one based on the twin pillars of mutual trust and respect. Each year we appoint a team of six boarding prefects or 'Owls' to leadership positions in Year 13. Alongside their deputies they are each responsible for a family of approximately ten boarders offering them support, guidance and leading by example to ensure the character and culture of the house is nurtured and sustained in a healthy and positive way.

Boarding in Stratton is such a great preparation for University or any pathway into life after school and put simply; Stratton is a wonderful place to live.

Mr. Adam J N Lea MA, Stratton Housemaster
