Warminster School is an all through school- what that means is you could join us as an infant, aged 2 years old, in our Courtyard Nursery and stay with us until leaving at end of Sixth Form aged 18.

In the Senior School there are key points at which your curriculum changes. In the Lower School (Years 7 and 8) everyone follows a similar educational diet it's in the Middle School that real changes occur! In Year 9 pupils select subjects they are going to study until examinations at the end of Year 11. This is the first point at which pupils begin to tailor their studies to career areas, although we advise our pupils to keep their options open and avoid specialising too early.

Year 11 sees for most pupils at Warminster their first set of public external assessments. In the UK pupils must stay in education, employment or training until they are 18 years of age. But as Year 11 ends pupils have not only the choice over what subjects to study but also where to study.

The next transition point is for me the one I have most mixed emotions with, that of leaving school. On the one hand it is always sad to see pupils leave us but on the other hand the most rewarding part is watching them flourish in their future lives be that University, Gap Years, Employment or Apprenticeships.

Remember there is support on hand via your tutor or you can visit the Careers Library or speak with Mrs Walmsley, for some impartial advice.
